Nick and Kate wanted an intimate location where they could share their vows. I scouted several locations for them and we landed at this magical lake just outside of Telluride. We woke up before the sun so that we could hike up to the alpine area before it got to bright.

Kate hiked the whole thing in her dress, which was so rad. We had the most perfect clouds roll in on the way up.

Privacy and intimacy were very prioritized for Nick and Kate, so they asked that when the time came to share vows, that I be out of ear shot. I was so happy to oblige because the scenery around them was epic. When we got to the top of the lake, the water was a slate color. Then the sun came out and the water came alive.

I loved getting to shoot this remote elopement in the backcountry.
